Kanyakumari - Southern most tip of South India. This point showcases two manmade wonders off the southern tip- Vivekananda Rock (left), and Thiruvalluvar Statue (right).

On our thirteen day cross country trip- visiting 13 American states, we may stop any night and wake up to unexpected wonderful scenery. Here we were at Julesburg, Colorado. This rest area, located in the north western tip of Colorado had wonderful scenery (though the restrooms were a bit dingy during our visit....). Here's a video I made of the same rest area.
Drinking our favorite tea on route in Colorado, outside Denver. We had purchased this car gadget that plugged into the power supply inside the car to heat water. It took FOREVER to heat the tea, but it was tasty when ready. We had used milk powder instead of milk or creamer to bring the right texture to the tea!

One of the sadder aspects of the trip was finding out with all the talk about 'going green' that most of the country is not yet 'on board'- at least within the thirteen states we visited. Only New York (our home state) and Colorado had recycling bins for plastic bottles at rest areas. Rest areas did have recycling for paper and glass though- but how many people really use glass bottles anymore? Here I am in Colorado- but at a recycling plant on way to Golden Gate state park, probably recycling over 30 bottles.
Here's a shot of mysterious, mystical Bryce Canyon in South Central Utah. Click here for more photos of Bryce Canyon taken by Krishna.
